LOS ANGELES – The Disney Channel is going back to school with "High School Musical 4."

The fourth iteration of the popular musical franchise will begin production later this year and premiere in 2010.

The Disney Channel said in a statement Tuesday that the new movie will introduce a new cast of characters and will focus on a cross-town school rivalry.

"High School Musical" drew an audience of 7.7 million when it debuted in 2006. "High School Musical 2" more than doubled viewership of the original with 17.2 million in 2007. "High School Musical 3" was released in theaters in 2008 and made more than $40 million its opening weekend.

充满悬念的《Heroes》获第四季续订

● 到目前为止，各电视网（广播网加有线网）一共预订了72部新剧的试映集（Pilot），这个数目远远低于往年的100＋。2008年一共有61部剧集获得播出机会，按60％的比例，今年大概为40部左右。

另一方面，各家电视网都在设法「省钱」。去年，每部新剧试映集的花费达到创记录的600～650万美元（《Fringe》甚至超过千万），今年试映集的平均花费下降到500～550万美元。剧集的整体制作费用和制作标准也有不同程度的下调。

JACK BAUER: {Voice over} Right now. Terrorists are plotting to assassinate a presidential candidate. My wife and daughter are in danger and people I work with may be involved in both. I'm federal agent Jack Bauer. This is the longest day of my life.
JACK BAUER: [Voice over] The following takes place between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the day of the California Presidential primary.
[Elizabeth Nash and Alexis Drazen are on the bed in Alexis's hotel room making love.]
INT. C.T.U. MAIN DOOR
[Senator Palmer is talking to Tony Almeida about why he needs to talk to Jack Bauer.]
SENATOR PALMER: I can go over your head Mr. Almeida. I assure you there will be consequences.
TONY ALMEIDA: I apologize Senator but we do have protocol. Our District Director Ryan Chappelle is working on a clearance. If I could tell him why your here
SENATOR PALMER: All he needs to know is I need to talk to Jack Bauer and I need to do it now.
TONY ALMEIDA: Can I get you anything while you wait?
SENATOR PALMER: No.
[TONY WALKS BACK TO HIS DESK AS HE CALLS CHAPPLLE UPSTAIRS IN JACK'S
OFFICE]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Chappelle.
TONY ALMEIDA: Yeah I don't think I can stall the Senator much longer.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: What did you tell him?
TONY ALMEIDA: I told him you were working on it.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: And he still didn't say why he was here?
TONY ALMEIDA: Nope. He just wants to see Jack.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Until I know more I don't want to put those two together. I'm checking it out now.
TONY ALMEIDA: All right.
[HANG UP]
[MILO WALKS UP TO TONY]
MILO: So? You find out why Palmer's here?
TONY ALMEIDA: Not yet. Any new Intel on the backup shooters?
MILO: Yeah. An Alexis Drazen. Looks like he’s connected to the two other shooters but he stopped in D.C. for a couple of days before landing in LA. on Saturday. There's other inconsistencies I'm still working on it.
TONY ALMEIDA: Where's the report?
MILO: I routed it to Nina's computer.
TONY ALMEIDA: Send me a copy would you?
MILO: Yeah.

[Teri and Kim Bauer are on their way to the safe house.]
TERI BAUER: I still don't understand why you’re taking us to a safe house. Weren't we supposed to answer a couple of questions at Jack's office?
NINA MYERS: We're going to do that at the safe house now.
KIM BAUER: Is my dad going to be there?
NINA MYERS: Not right now. Maybe when he's done at C.T.U.
TERI BAUER: Are we okay Nina?
NINA MYERS: Everything’s fine. Right now a small controlled environment is the most secure place for you both.
TERI BAUER: Does Jack know your taking us?
NINA MYERS: Of course.
[Nina's cell rings]
NINA MYERS: Myers...........Yeah we're moving them now. We should be there soon.
KIM BAUER: Mom. You never told me what the doctor said.
TERI BAUER: It was a cyst that burst. She said it wasn't serious.
KIM BAUER: Then why did she....
TERI BAUER: Honey, there's nothing to worry about. She said it would go away all by it's self.
***FADE OUT***
INT. C.T.U. HOLDING CELL
[Jack continues to tell Alberta Green what happened]
JACK BAUER: Gaines first made contact with me on my cell phone. He directed me to a car in the parking lot at St.Mark's.
ALBERTA GREEN: The transmitter was in the car?
JACK BAUER: Yeah that's when he asked me to put it in my ear. Look can we take a break for a second? Can you find out how my wife and daughter are doing at the clinic?
ALBERTA GREEN: Teri and Kim have already left the clinic.
JACK BAUER: What?
ALBERTA GREEN: They're fine. Nina is moving them to a safe house.
JACK BAUER: You knew they were moving my family and you didn't tell me?
[JACK STOPS THE RECORDER AND STANDS UP]
JACK BAUER: That's it. This is over. I don't say another word I want to speak to Chappelle...........NOW ALBERTA.
[SHE GETS UP AND LEAVES THE ROOM]

INT. ALEXIS DRAZEN'S HOTEL ROOM
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Your exhausting.
ELIZABETH NASH: I was surprised you called last night. I didn't think I'd see you again after D.C. I'm not really that easy you know.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Will you have another break later in the day?
[They kiss]
ELIZABETH NASH: The Senator has to leave town this afternoon. He's going to Nevada. Only a few of us were told about it and I am one of the ones who has to go with him.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: You have to hold his hand?
ELIZABETH NASH: In so many words.
[ELIZABETH GETS UP AND HEADS FOR THE SHOWER]
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Is it too much to hope that you might have some free time in Nevada?
ELIZABETH NASH: You would want to come?
ALEXIS DRAZEN: If you want me.
[Elizabeth GETS IN THE SHOWER AS ALEXIS GOES THROUGH NASH'S PURSE AND READS NOTES ON PALMER.]
ELIZABETH NASH: This is a pretty big shower there's room for two.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: I'm on my way.

[Senator on phone with the pentagon]
SENATOR PLAMER: Alan.
ALAN OPTICAN: What can I do for you sir?
SENATOR PALMER: I'm trying to talk to a CTU agent named Jack Bauer.
ALAN OPTICAN: Where are you?
SENATOR PALMER: C.T.U. Los Angeles. They say I need clearance but it's taking forever.
ALAN OPTICAN: Not a problem. Who's in charge over there?
SENATOR PALMER: Ryan Chappelle.
ALAN OPTICAN: Yeah okay. I'll take care of this right away.
SENATOR PALMER: Thank you Alan. I owe you one.
[HANGS UP]
[RYAN CHAPPLLE ENTERS AND GREETS THE SENATOR]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Senator Palmer. Ryan Chappelle.
[THEY SHAKE HANDS]
SENATOR PALMER: What seems to be the problem Ryan? Why can't I get in to see Agent Bauer?
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Please forgive the wait. When an Agent is under internal investigation, procedures is to keep him isolated until he's been fully interrogated. It's really out of my hands.
SENATOR PALMER: Even if I can help you with your investigation?
[TONY INTERUPTS]
TONY ALMEIDA: Mr.Chappelle. Alan Optican from the pentagon is on the line for you.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Excuse me Senator. [PICKS UP PHONE] Chappelle.
ALAN OPTICAN: Alan Optican, Department of Defense.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Yes sir.
ALAN OPTICAN: From this point on the Senator is to be given carte blanche. You make sure he gets whatever he needs.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Yes sir.
ALAN OPTICAN: Understood?
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Yes sir.
ALAN OPTICAN: Thank you. [HANGS UP]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: [To Tony] Bring Jack Bauer down here right away.
[Tony walks away]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Thank you for helping me cut through the red tape.
SENATOR PALMER: I want all your cameras and recording equipment shut down. This is going to be a private conversation.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: I understand. I'll make sure the room is secure.
SENATOR PALMER: Thank you.
***CUT TO***
[HOLDING CELL]
[Tony opens up the door]
TONY ALMEIDA: Hey Jack.
JACK BAUER: Hey.
TONY ALMEIDA: Listen. Nina called. She wanted me to tell you Teri and Kim are fine.
JACK BAUER: Who's guarding the house?
TONY ALMEIDA: Paulson and Breeher.
JACK BAUER: Okay good.
TONY ALMEIDA: Also Chappelle wants to see you in the conference room.
JACK BAUER: Good.
[JACK GETS UP AND MAKES HIS WAY TO THE CONFERENCE ROOM BUT NOT BEFORE HE RUNS INTO MILO.]
JACK BAUER: Milo. Sorry I had to switch the cards on you last night. I had no choice.
MILO: No problem. We understand what you were going through.
JACK BAUER: Thanks for your help.
[JACK ENTERS THE ROOM ONLY NOT TO FIND CHAPPLLE. HE FINDS SENATOR PALMER IN THE ROOM]
JACK BAUER: [Surprised] Senator Palmer.
SENATOR PALMER: [To his guards] Leave us..... [To Jack] Close the door. Sit.
JACK BAUER: Yes sir.
SENATOR PALMER: I want to know who's working with you.
JACK BAUER: In which context sir?
SENATOR PALMER: Right here, right now. We're going to end this.
JACK BAUER: Sir I don't know what they told you.....
SENATOR PALMER: [RAISES HIS VOICE] I KNOW WHY YOU WANT ME DEAD.
JACK BAUER: WANT YOU DEAD SENATOR I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.
SENATOR PALMER: KOSOVO.
JACK BAUER: Kosovo?
SENATOR PALMER: I know you hold me responsible for the lose of your men. Two years ago today.
JACK BAUER: You know about operation Nightfall?
SENATOR PALMER: I authorized the mission. I know you took out Victor Drazen and his inner circle. I know you lost six men in the process.
JACK BAUER: And you think I want revenge?
SENATOR PALMER: Yes I do.
[JACK STANDS UP AND STARTS YELLING]
JACK BAUER: WITH ALL DUE RESPECT I ALMOST DIED TODAY TRYING TO PROTECT YOU. IF I BLAME ANYONE FOR THE DEATH OF MY MEN IN KOSOVO I BLAME MYSELF.
SENATOR PALMER: THEN WHAT WERE YOU DOING AT THE POWER PLANT?
JACK BAUER: I WAS TRYING....[Jack Calms down] The reason why I went for that secret service agent's gun was to try and get you out of the room without giving myself away.............The people that want you dead, they had kidnapped my family. They threatened to kill them if I didn't assist them in the assassination attempt.
[PALMER WITH A SHOCKED LOOK ON HIS FACE]
JACK BAUER: They didn't tell you any of this when you came in, did they sir?
SENATOR PALMER: No.
JACK BAUER: It's the truth. You can verify it with Chappelle.

[The SUV is pulling up to the driveway as Agent Paulson says in his radio]
AGENT PAULSON: Okay they're just arriving at the safe house.
AGENT BREEHER: Copy that.
AGENT PAULSON: This way Mrs.Bauer.
NINA MYERS: These are agents Ted Paulson and Jeff Breeher, They have worked for Jack for many years. They’re two of our best. This is Jack's wife Teri and his daughter Kim.
KIM BAUER: Hi.
AGENT BREEHER: Hi Kim.
AGENT PAULSON: Where do you want us?
NINA MYERS: One in and one out.
[AGENT BREEHER, NINA, TERI, AND KIM ENTER THE HOUSE] [AGENT PAULSON IS OUTSIDE.]
NINA MYERS: Well it's not exactly home but it's relatively comfortable. There are motion detectors every ten yards.
KIM BAUER: How long do we have to stay here?
NINA MYERS: We'll worry about that when we finish debriefing you.
TERI BAUER: Nina where's the bathroom?
NINA MYERS: There's one in each bedroom. If you both would like to clean up before we get started please do.
[KIM GOES TO ONE ROOM AND TERI GOES TO HER ROOM AND ENTERS THE BATHROOM AS SHE PULLS OUT HER PREGNACY TEST.]

INT. C.T.U. CONFRENCE ROOM
SENATOR PALMER: I was the head of a special Defense committee in the Senate. Which means covert operations. Three years ago the C.I.A. brought to my attention atrocities committed by Victor Drazen in Kosovo. Massacres, torture, ethnic cleansing. The man was a monster and he was gaining support. I tried to go through the usual channels but I couldn't get anyone to work quickly enough. So I contacted the one person I knew who could get the job done. Have him terminated, off the books.
JACK BAUER: And that would be Robert Ellis?
SENATOR PALMER: That's right. Ellis was funded through a discretionary fund of my committee. His job was to implement the covert missions and see to it that no names were leaked. Now we're both on somebody's list.
JACK BAUER: So this is payback for what happened that day. That's the only thing that makes sense. But If someone could put your name and my name on a list together, That means they should be able to find Robert Ellis too.
SENATOR PALMER: Your right.
***FADE OUT***
INT. SOME BAR IN NEW ORLEANS
[Robert Ellis is playing a game of dice with a friend at a table.]
ROBERT ELLIS: Four sixes.
LENNY: Let's see 'em.
[Robert lifts the cup from the table]
LENNY: [Laughing] I knew it. I saw it in your eyes.
ROBERT ELLIS: If you could read what's in my eyes you'd crawl under a rock and cry........Go again.
[Ellis's cell rings]
ROBERT ELLIS: Ellis.
SENATOR PALMER: Robert, This is David Palmer.
ROBERT ELLIS: You've got to be kidding.
SENATOR PALMER: I'm not. I'm here with Jack Bauer as well.
ROBERT ELLIS: [TO LENNY] Get lost.
[Lenny leaves]
ROBERT ELLIS: What are you doing in the same room with Bauer? I went through a lot of trouble to make sure you two never met.
SENATOR PALMER: Someone close to Victor Drazen seems to have connected us.
ROBERT ELLIS: Explain.
SENATOR PALMER: Someone wants me dead, and it appears they want Bauer too. Today. The two-year anniversary of Nightfall.
ROBERT ELLIS: I'm the only one who even knows you two were both involved in Nightfall.
SENATOR PALMER: Apparently not. If we're on the list it's likely you are too.
ROBERT ELLIS: Let me talk to Bauer.
JACK BAUER: I'm right here Bob.
ROBERT ELLIS: Jack. You still at CTU.?
JACK BAUER: Yeah.
ROBERT ELLIS: All right to source this out we'll need each others help.
JACK BAUER: Well unfortunately over the last 12 hours I’ve had to cut a few corners. I'm being investigated right now my hands are tied.
ROBERT ELLIS: Get them untied. David can help you there. If this is about revenge it has to be someone connected to your team
JACK BAUER: No that's not possible. No one my team knew of the senator's involvement.
ROBERT ELLIS: Well then it has to be Drazen's group. I'll retrieve the closes file on nightfall. It'll contain the names of Drazen's associates. That'll take a few minuets. In the mean time you need to pick a trail on the money. Odds are it's funded through Belgium. Can you get to your k-3 accounts from there?
JACK BAUER: Yes if I get reinstated.
ROBERT ELLIS: Start there. We'll compare names when we talk again. Where can I reach you?
JACK BAUER: C.T.U. Los Angeles office.
ROBERT ELLIS: All right. [Hangs up]
***FADE OUT***
INT. THE SAFE HOUSE TERI'S BATHROOM
[Teri gets her test out and finds out that she is going to have a baby]
[Nina knocks on door]
NINA MYERS: Teri?
TERI BAUER: Yes.
NINA MYERS: I put some clean cloths on the bed.
TERI BAUER: Thank you.
***FADE OUT***
INT. PALMER HOTEL
[Sherry Palmer rushes in the room]
ELIZABETH NASH: They called me in and said you decided not to fly out. What happened? Aren't we going to Nevada?
SHERRY PALMER: The Senator needed to take care of something first. He thought we'd be safest here.
ELIZABETH NASH: Are you going to take a later flight?
SHERRY PALMER: I don't know. I hope so.
[Sherry goes to her room as Elizabeth walks down the hallway and calls Alexis Drazen who is sitting down outside at a small cafe.]
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Hello.
ELIZABETH NASH: You missed me yet?
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Of course.
ELIZABETH NASH: I hope you didn't book your flight to Nevada.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: I was just about to. Why?
ELIZABETH NASH: We might not be going.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: When will you know?
ELIZABETH NASH: About an hour.
[ANDRE DRAZEN ARRIVES AT THE CAFE AND SITS DOWN WITH HIS BROTHER]
ALEXIS DRAZEN: If you stay in town will you remain in the hotel?
ELIZABETH NASH: I don't know. They might switch us at the last minuet for security reasons. I'll let you know where I am.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: I can still smell your perfume on my skin.
ELIZABETH NASH: [Smiles] I'll call you as soon as I know.
[HANGS UP]
ANDRE DRAZEN: Is that the girl?
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Yes. Palmer might not be leaving after all.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Better for us.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Yes.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Was there any problem getting rid of Gaines' people?
ALEXIS DRAZEN: No. You should of never used him. I told you it was a mistake.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Fine you fixed the mistake let's move on.
[ANDRE HEARS A GIRL LAUGHING AND IT REMINDED HIM OF THERE SISTER]
ANDRE DRAZEN: She looks like Martina.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Our sister is dead Andre. Leave it alone.
ANDRE DRAZEN: You spoken to Jovan and Mishko?
ALEXIS DRAZEN: They have their targets in site. And as for Palmer I give you my word he will be dead by Midnight.
[ALEXIS AND ANDRE SMILE BIG]

ROBERT ELLIS: Milo?
MILO: Yeah. Who are you?
ROBERT ELLIS: Don't worry about me. I see you opened up some sockets up to MI5.
MILO: Yeah, How did you know that?
ROBERT ELLIS: Doesn't matter. Right now we're trying to hook up some names. I'm going to help you. What's your login ID and password?
JACK BAUER: Give it to him.
MILO: The login ID is L-F-N. Password is foothill 94022 lower case.
ROBERT ELLIS: Okay hang on.........Okay looks like we got some partial results.

[ELLIS SEES A MAN ENTER THE BAR AND STARE AT HIM AS ELLIS PULLS OUT HIS GUN AND HIDES IT UNDER HIS JACKET. THE MAN SEES THE GUN AND WALKS OUT]
ROBERT ELLIS: I'll look into it. Milo I'm going to send a file to your server. Why don't you print out hard copies for Jack and David.
MILO: Yeah sure.
JACK BAUER: Thanks Milo.
ROBERT ELLIS: All right here we go.

INT. THE SAFE HOUSE
[Teri tries to get a hold of Jack and tell him but he's busy]
NINA MYERS: I'm sorry we really need to get started on the debrief. C.T.U.'S eager to find out what you know.
TERI BAUER: We're ready.
KIM BAUER: Yeah.
NINA MYERS: Great. I'd like to start with just you Teri.
TERI BAUER: Fine.
KIM BAUER: I think I'll go to my room.
TERI BAUER: That's a good idea honey. Try to get some rest.
[Kim takes Teri's cell and goes to her room]
NINA MYERS: This is standard. We are going to put you on videotape.
TERI BAUER: Fine.
[Kim calls Rick who I guess after all they have been through gave her his number]
RICK: Yeah.
KIM BAUER: Rick it's Kim.
RICK: Hey. Kim.
KIM BAUER: Are you okay?
RICK: Yeah. I just lost a little blood.
KIM BAUER: You need to see a doctor you don't sound good.
RICK: I just need a few days rest that's all.
KIM BAUER: You should turn yourself in, You can get medical attention.
RICK: I can also get arrested.
KIM BAUER: You helped us escape. I'll tell them that.
RICK: NO! Don't tell them anything about me.
KIM BAUER: It's too late. My mom's already being questioned. They're going to ask me about you. I'm next I can't lie.
RICK: Okay. Don't. Just tell them that I didn't know what was going on and that Dan threatened me. He had a gun.
KIM BAUER: Okay but promise me you'll turn yourself in.
RICK: I got to think this through. I'm not like you Kim. I don't come from a good family. The system isn't going to give me a break.
KIM BAUER: It's your only way out of this.
RICK: I brought you to Gaines. That's kidnapping. They could put me in jail for the rest of my life.

SENATOR PALMER: What's incredible is that this has nothing to do with me running for president. It has nothing to do with the primary. It has nothing to do with my being black. It's just revenge for taking out Victor Drazen.

[Sherry cells David]
SENATOR PALMER: Hello?
SHERRY PALMER: David, it's Sherry.

SHERRY PALMER: Yes where are you?
SENATOR PALMER: I'm at C.T.U. a government agency.
SHERRY PALMER: Why?
SENATOR PALMER: There are some things I have to take care of.
SHERRY PALMER: David, what's going on?
SENATOR PALMER: I'm trying to find out who's attempting to kill me Sherry. I've got to go. Just wait for me at the hotel.
[HANGS UP]
SENATOR PALMER: Just doesn't stop does it.
JACK BAUER: Sorry this is happening to you sir.
SENATOR PALMER: You've been detained. Your family was kidnapped and you’re concerned about me? That didn't have anything to do with election. That was about my son.
JACK BAUER: Is he all right?
SENATOR PALMER: I just realized today that I haven't always been there for him. And what's killing me is that he's always been there for me. Being a son of a politician isn't easy.

[JACK AND THE SENATOR ARE BOTH RUNNING THROUGH THERE COPIES OF PAPERS]
JACK BAUER: What is the ambassador of Libya doing on this list?
SENATOR PALMER: Probably helped keep Drazen's money separate from the government.
JACK BAUER: Do you know a Rene Bonnier?

JACK BAUER: They died in the explosion. My God. This is an eye for an eye. We took out Drazen and his family now someone wants mine.

[Senator calls in for Chappelle]

NINA MYERS: So there was nothing else you saw or heard that gave you a glimpse into their operation?
TERI BAUER: No that's it. They really didn't talk much in front of us.
NINA MYERS: Tell me about Rick. You said he helped you?
TERI BAUER: Yeah.
NINA MYERS: How?
TERI BAUER: Different ways. Mainly he gave us a gun and he helped us escape.
NINA MYERS: How did he get a gun?
TERI BAUER: I don't know.
NINA MYERS: So do you think that Rick had the confidence of Ira Gaines? The leader of the group?
TERI BAUER: I really couldn't tell you that.
[LATER ON TERI FINDS OUT THAT NINA WAS THE ONE WHO WAS WITH JACK WHEN THEY SEPERATED.]

RYAN CHAPPLLE: Yes Senator.
SENATOR PALMER: I understand you have Jack under arrest.
JACK BAUER: I told him I was being held for questioning.
SENATOR PALMER: There's an on going crisis that supersedes any charges filed against him.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: But Senator ---
SENATOR PALMER: I want him reinstated to his previous position effective now.
ALBERTA GREEN: I'm sorry sir but you don't have that authority to make that decision.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Alberta, please. Sir what your asking isn't possible. The charges against agent Bauer are serious. We would be held in contempt of agency regulations if we reinstated him without a hearing.
JACK BAUER: Ryan you don't have to reinstate me. Just give me provisional status until the end of the day. Then you can take me into custody do whatever you want.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Fine Jack. You work the case out of C.T.U. but you answer to me. Good luck with your campaign Senator.
SENATOR PALMER: Walk with me. .....................Secret service wants me to leave the state.
JACK BAUER: I agree with them.
SENATOR PALMER: The one thing we know. Drazen's people are here and they want us dead today. It's almost 3:00 now. The day is more than half over. I'm going to stay. Let's flush them out into the open and deal with them.
JACK BAUER: I understand. I'll follow up with Ellis and keep you posted throughout the day.
SENATOR PALMER: Jack? I'm sorry I doubted you.
JACK BAUER: Thank you Senator.
[THEY SHAKE HANDS]
[MEANWHILE NINA DRILLS KIM ON RICK AS TERI WANTS TO FINISH UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF.]
[JACK CALLS OVER AT THE SAFE HOUSE]
JACK BAUER: Nina, look we are sending over two more teams.
NINA MYERS: Why?
JACK BAUER: Looks like Teri and Kim are targets as well. Nina. That's not information they need to know.
NINA MYERS: No of course.
JACK BAUER: Let me speak to Teri.
NINA MYERS: Sure.............Teri, it's Jack.
TERI BAUER: Hi Jack.
JACK BAUER: Hey sweetheart. You okay how're you doing?
TERI BAUER: I'm okay.
JACK BAUER: How's Kim?
TERI BAUER: She's fine.
JACK BAUER: You sound funny.
TERI BAUER: It's nothing I just........I just......I'm so tired.
JACK BAUER: Just try to get some rest. Listen if you need anything from the house I'll have someone go get it for you.
TERI BAUER: Yeah yeah okay Jack.
JACK BAUER: I’ve got to go I love you okay.

[PHONE RINGS. IT'S ELLIS]
JACK BAUER: Bauer.
ROBERT ELLIS: Jack it's Bob.
JACK BAUER: Hey Bob.
[ELLIS GETS UP AND WALKS TO THE BATHROOM]
ROBERT ELLIS: I shot over a few more things to Milo. I still can't locate the missing file.
JACK BAUER: How can I help?
ROBERT ELLIS: I gave Milo enough for him to try it on your end. I think the file was taken out deliberately. Which leads me to believe that it contains what we're looking for.
JACK BAUER: Look can you give me a estimate when you think the file was stolen?
ROBERT ELLIS: Not yet but you tell Milo that I got some ideas on how -----------
[A MAN COME FROM OUT OF NOWHERE AND STARTS TO STRANGLE ELLIS AS HE DROPS HIS CELL PHONE]

JACK BAUER: [Voice over] The following takes place between 1:00 p.m and 2:00 p.m. on the day of the California Presidential primary.
{We open with the chopper flying back to C.T.U. Meanwhile at C.T.U. outside is Alberta Green and Nina Myers along with some others in the background.}
ALBERTA GREEN: Who's in this chopper?
NINA MYERS: Just Jack and his family. The prisoners are in another transport.
{THE CHOPPER LANDS}
JACK BAUER: Teri are you okay?
TERI BAUER: My stomach has been bothering me for a couple of hours.
JACK BAUER: Sweetheart did something happen there?
TERI BAUER: No. It's from all the stress.
JACK BAUER: Well they called ahead. There's an ambulance to take both of you to a clinic where a doctor can examine you.
KIM BAUER: Can't we stay with you?
JACK BAUER: No I've got to stay here at C.T.U.
[ALBERTA AND NINA WALK UP TO JACK AND HIS FAMILY}
ALBERTA GREEN: Jack!
JACK BAUER: Alberta. This is my wife Teri and my daughter Kim.
NINA MYERS: Hi.
JACK BAUER: Thanks Nina.
[JACK AND NINA LOOK AT EACH OTHER AS TERI NOTICES SOMETHING BUT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT JACK'S LOOK ON HIS FACE]
ALBERTA GREEN: The ambulance will take them to the clinic.
JACK BAUER: Good.
ALBERTA GREEN: [To Teri and Kim] You'll be going with agent Scott. He'll take care of anything you need.
TERI BAUER: Jack what's going to happen to you?
JACK BAUER: It's okay; they just have to debrief me. Hey come here. [THEY ALL HUG] It's going to be okay. I'll call over there as soon as I can okay.
[ALBERTA AND JACK WALK BACK TO THE BUILDING]
ALBERTA GREEN: We'll be doing more than debriefing you Jack. I'm afraid I have to place you under house arrest. You'll be held here and questioned until we hand you over to the F.B.I.
[EVERYONE ENTERS C.T.U. JACK IS BEING ESCORTED BY SECURITY GUARDS AS NINA WALKS WITH JACK]
JACK BAUER: Nina. I want you to watch over Teri and Kim. Make sure there safe.
NINA MYERS: Green has me doing mop up on the operation.
JACK BAUER: Get Tony to do it. Just get over to the clinic.
NINA MYERS: I'll have to get Green's approval.
JACK BAUER: Nina please.
ALBERTA GREEN: [On Phone] Contact District. Tell them we have Jack Bauer in custody.
[SECURITY LEADS JACK TO ONE OF C.T.U.'S HOLDING CELL'S. #1 AS JACK ENTERS IT.]
JACK BAUER: Could you ask them if I can have some water please.
GUARD: Right away sir.
INT. C.T.U. NINA'S DESK
NINA MYERS: Alberta. Tony's finishing the procedures and the mop up. I've been here since before midnight. I'd like an hour off, go home clean up.
ALBERTA GREEN: Denied.
NINA MYERS: Com on Alberta please.
ALBERTA GREEN: One thing I have a great eye for is bullshit. If you want an hour off tell me where you’re going.
NINA MYERS: Jack asked me to look out for Teri and Kim. There feeling isolated since he can't be there.
ALBERTA GREEN: Now there's an irony for you. Looking after Jack's family. Make sure Tony has everything he needs before you go.

INT. PALMER HOTEL ROOM.
[Senator palmer calls on his high-ranking aid Elizabeth Nash]
SENATOR PALMER: Elizabeth. Have we heard from Christopher yet?
ELIZABTH NASH: Yes but he only had early projections and those were from New York and Massachusetts.
SENATOR PALMER: Get with me when he has the numbers from the other states. I want to know if the incident at the breakfast is hurting us.
ELIZABETH NASH: Of course.

[SENATOR PALMER WALKS INTO THE KITCHEN]
SENATOR PALMER: What's on your mind Sherry?
SHERRY PALMER: You've got to go out there today with your best face. There can be no talk about Keith and no talk about Faragamo. Faragamo's death was an accident.
SENATOR PALMER: I'm not going to talk about Faragamo. I'm dropping it.
SHERRY PALMER: Really?
SENATOR PALMER: I'm being blackmailed
SHERRY PALMER: By who?
SENATOR PALMER: By some of the people that have been financing my campaign.
SHERRY PALMER: What do they want?
SENATOR PALMER: They're determined to see me in the White House and if I don't do what they want they say they can build a first-degree murder case against Keith.
SHERRY PALMER: For Lyle Gibson?
SENATOR PALMER: No. For Faragamo.
SHERRY PALMER: Oh No. Keith was nowhere near Faragamo's office today.
SENATOR PALMER: According to Carl, who's been doing all their dirty work, someone planted evidence that could implicate Keith in Faragamo's murder.
SHERRY PALMER: No David.
SENATOR PALMER: This is what happens when you cover things up Sherry.
SHERRY PALMER: Don't preach to me David okay....................[SIGHS] What are we going to do?
SENATOR PALMER: I don't know yet.
SHERRY PALMER: Does Keith know anything?
SENATOR PALMER: No. And he's not going to.
[THE SENATOR WALKS OUT OF THE ROOM]

INT. MEDICAL CLINIC
DR. KENT: You must be Teri. I'm Dr. Kent. Were going to be taking good care of you today. This is your daughter Kim?
KIM BAUER: Hi.
DR. KENT: We were alerted to your abdominal pain. I'd like to get an ultrasound.
TERI BAUER: It's not as painful as it was before.
DR. KENT: Well that's good but we want to make sure we know what it is. Is there any other discomfort? Anything you want to tell us before we examine you?
TERI BAUER: No.
KIM BAUER: Mom?
[DR. KENT'S AID TAKES KIM TO THE NEXT ROOM]
DR. KENT: Mrs. Bauer?
TERI BAUER: I was raped.
DR. KENT: I see. Okay. Then were going to need to draw blood and some tests and I would like to recommend you to one of our psychiatrists.
TERI BAUER: That's not necessary.
DR. KENT: Mrs. Bauer of course you can do what you want but under the circumstances I think it's important that you take a few minuets and speak to someone.
TERI BAUER: I'd like to keep this confidential.
DR. KENT: The records are private only the doctors involved have access.
TERI BAUER: I mean from my husband.
DR. KENT: All right. If that's what you want.

MIKE NOVIC: I think we should spend some time with Senators Blalock and Gleason pretty soon.
SENATOR PALMER: I really don't feel comfortable aligning myself with those guys.
MIKE NOVIC: Your going to need their states. Just being seen with them will go along way.
SENATOR PALMER: [GROANS] Okay. Was there something else you wanted to discuss?
MIKE NOVIC: I'm worried that this Faragamo thing is not going to go away.
SENATOR PALMER: Let me handle the Faragamo situation Mike. You just make sure the rest of the day gets back on track.
[KEITH PALMER ENTERS]
KEITH PALMER: Did I hear something about Faragamo?
SENATOR PALMER: There was a fire in his office.
MIKE NOVIC: I'll get on this.
[MIKE WALKS AWAY]
SENATOR PALMER: Thanks Mike.
KEITH PALMER: Dad, What are you talking about?
SENATOR PALMER: Keith I'm sorry. Dr. Faragamo died.
KEITH PALMER: When?
SENATOR PALMER: About an hour ago. We just found out.
KEITH PALMER: Wait. I don't get it. What kind of fire?
SENATOR PALMER: Were still waiting on all the details.
KEITH PALMER: [CONFUSED] What's going on dad? Are you saying that Faragamo was involved in this? That he told Maureen Kingsley something I said in a session? Is that how this whole thing about Lyle Gibson got started?
SENATOR PALMER: Seems that way.
KEITH PALMER: But he died in a fire an hour ago.
SENATOR PALMER: It was an accident.
KEITH PALMER: No no I don't believe this.
SENATOR PALMER: Keith look, We have to let it go right now.
KEITH PALMER: LET IT GO. No you mean cover it up.
SENATOR PALMER: There's nothing to cover up.
KEITH PALMER: Sure there is. Somebody didn't want him to talk about this because it'll hurt your campaign.
SENATOR PALMER: What would you like me to do.
KEITH PALMER: Go to the police.
SENATOR PALMER: I can't.
KEITH PALMER: I don't get it dad. What was all that stuff about trusting the system.
SENATOR PALMER: I do trust the system. You been on me all night about Gibson's death.
KEITH PALMER: Well this isn't about Gibson anymore is it.
SENATOR PALMER: Son. I love you. You have to understand I'm doing what's best for you.

[REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF C.T.U. RYAN CHAPPLLE ENTERS ALONG WITH KEY AGENTS FROM DISTRICT.]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Afternoon Tony.
TONY ALMEIDA: Mr. Chappelle.
MILO: Looks like there brining in the big guns. What do you think they're gonna do to Jack?
TONY ALMEIDA: They're not gonna name a street after him.
INT. HOLDING ROOM
[A AGENT PUTS A RECORDING EQUIPMENT ON THE TABLE AS RYAN ENTERS]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Hey Jack.
JACK BAUER: Ryan. Good to see you.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: I've got five priority cases on my desk this morning. Your name's on all of them.
JACK: I can imagine that. Look I wanted to say that
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Hang on. [PRESSES THE RECORD BUTTON] You were saying.
JACK BAUER: Right. At approximately 12:15 I got a phone call from agent Nina Myers telling me to assemble the team at C.T.U. District director Richard Walsh

INT. MEDICAL CLINIC
[Nina opens up a door into another room to find a man hanging up a phone]
NINA MYERS: Where's Teri Bauer?
AGENT: I don't know.
NINA MYERS: Who are you with?
AGENT: F.B.I. and you?
NINA MYERS: C.T.U.
AGENT: Just waiting for the rest of my debrief team. Were going to interrogate some of the prisoners they're brining to the clinic.
NINA MYERS: Okay. Thanks. [She leaves the room]
NINA MYERS: I'm with C.T.U. where's Teri Bauer?
NURSE: She was moved to room seven.
NINA MYERS: Thanks.
[NINA ENTERS ROOM SEVEN]
NINA MYERS: Teri?
TERI BAUER: Nina. I didn't know you were going to be here.
NINA MYERS: Yeah. Hi Kim. We didn't officially meet. I'm Nina Myers I work with your dad.
KIM BAUER: Hi.
NINA MYERS: I'm glad the both of you are okay. I'm here until your done. If you need anything I'll be in the waiting room.
TERI BAUER: Nina? What's happening with Jack?
NINA MYERS: He's being questioned.
TERI BAUER: Is he in trouble?
NINA MYERS: That depends. He broke a few rules last night but he was doing it to save you and Kim so I think they'll understand.
TERI BAUER: If he doesn't piss them off first.
NINA MYERS: My thoughts exactly.
TERI BAUER: I guess you know Jack just as well as I do.
NINA MYERS: Yeah... I'm sending someone to your house to pick up some clean clothes.
TERI BAUER: What's going to happen when we get released? Why can't we just go home?
NINA MYERS: Well until we know what happened we want to take every precaution to keep you safe.
TERI BAUER: When do we get to see my dad?
NINA MYERS: I don't know. A lot of things need to happen first. Some people will want to talk to you. Division, Secret Service, Us. You see this wasn't a simple crime. This was a terrorist conspiracy and you were in the middle of it but that's over now.
TERI BAUER: Nina. I don't know all the details about last night but I understand you’re a big part of the reason that we're still alive. Thank you.
NINA MYERS: Sure. I'll be out there.
[NINA WALKS PAST THE DOOR THAT SHE WAS TALKING TO A AGENT BUT THE AGENT IS GONE AND NINA GETS WORRIED.] SHE WALKS UP A F.B.I. AGENT]
AGENT: Yes.
NINA MYERS: Nina Myers CTU. Is that man FBI?
AGENT: Yeah he's with me.
NINA MYERS: He was in room three earlier I'd like to speak with him.
AGENT: Sure but he wasn't in room three. We just got here. STU?
[THE AGENT TURNS AROUND AS IT'S NOT THE MAN NINA TALKED TO EARLIER.]
NINA MYERS: Who else is here from the Bureau?
AGENT: Just the two of us.
NINA MYERS: Are you sure.
AGENT: Course I'm sure.
[NINA WALKS AROUND THE CORNER]

JACK BAUER: And the reason I didn't call CTU for backup right away well frankly I was worried things could get out of control. My wife and daughter were still in the compound
RYAN CHAPPLLE: But you did eventually call.
JACK BAUER: Yes. The second Teri and Kim were with me I called Alberta Green.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: You did what any loving father would do. Unfortunately as you know our procedures don't allow for any deviation from protocol. I can't reinstate you Jack.
JACK BAUER: Ryan have you heard a single thing that I've said? Do you understand what's happening? Senator Palmer's life is still in danger. Now that my family is safe I can help you.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: As of right now your case will be put into the hands of the justice department.
JACK BAUER: Justice department? [PISSED] FOR GOD SAKES YES UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES I HAD TO BREAK THE RULES OF PROCEDURES WITH C.T.U. TO PROTECT MY FAMILY. I NEVER DEVIETED FROM MY ASSIGNMENT WICH WAS TO PROTECT SENATOR PALMER AND YOU KNOW THAT.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: I know that and that's what might keep you from going to jail but that's not my call.
JACK BAUER: You don't have time for this Ryan. I have come in contact with suspects that are still at large and I guarantee you they have a contingency plan. I am a resource I can identify them you want to arrest me and put me in jail fine you do that later but you let me help Senator Palmer get through the rest of this day.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: I'll ask Alberta if she needs your help.
JACK BAUER: SHE'S BEEN HERE FOR FOUR HOURS RYAN!
[PHONE RINGS]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Chappelle.
SECRETARY: Can Myers talk to Bauer?
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Yeah.
SECRETARY: I'll patch you through.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Fine.

NINA MYERS: How's it going over there?
JACK BAUER: They’re handing me over to justice department.
NINA MYERS: Didn't you explain what happened?
JACK BAUER: Yes of course. I think Alberta Green is trying to make a career move. How's Teri and Kim?
NINA MYERS: They seem okay considering what they have been through.
JACK BAUER: How much longer do you think they will be at the clinic?
NINA MYERS: Couple of hours then they will be transferred to a safe house for questioning.
JACK BAUER: Nina I can't thank you enough for being there...........Nina?
NINA MYERS: Yeah I'm here.
JACK BAUER: What's wrong?
NINA MYERS: When Walsh told you that someone inside the agency was working against Palmer did you think it was more than one person?
JACK BAUER: He didn't say but I've been thinking about this too. Someone had to recruit Jamey. You're going to have to work under the assumption that someone else is on the inside Maybe not C.T.U The District, Division, maybe secret service. Why? What are you thinking?
NINA MYERS: I just want to make sure Teri and Kim are safe here.
JACK BAUER: What do you mean? At the clinic?
NINA MYERS: Yeah.
JACK BAUER: Why wouldn't they be?
NINA MYERS: I don't know. I'm just tired. I'm probably getting paranoid.
JACK BAUER: Nina what's going on over there?
NINA MYERS: Nothing. Don't worry. I'll make sure there safe here.
JACK BAUER: Okay thanks. Can I talk to them?
NINA MYERS: There being examined right now.
JACK BAUER: Okay get back to me as soon as they can talk. Please.
NINA MYERS: Yeah.
JACK BAUER: Okay thank you.
[HANG UP]
INT. C.T.U. TONY ALMEIDA'S DESK
[Alberta Green walks up to Tony]
ALBERTA GREEN: Have you got any more information on the back up plan to assassinate Palmer?
TONY ALMEIDA: The information that came in a half an hour ago really matched from what we got from Divisions database. Things are falling into place.
ALBERTA GREEN: Give me the headlines.
TONY ALMEIDA: Three shooters possibly hired to kill Palmer in case the breakfast attempt failed. Jovan Myovic entered the country two days ago. Mishko Suba also from the Balkans came in three days ago through Florida.
ALBERTA GREEN: And the other one?
TONY ALMEIDA: No name yet.
ALBERTA GREEN: Keep looking. If he's connected with the others we need to know where he is and what he's doing.
****FADE****
EXT. WEAPONS DROP OFF POINT
[Kevin Carol and the rest of Gaines men drive their vans to a shed. A man watches them hidden behind a hill.]

KEVIN CAROL: Let's leave it right there. Get the equipment in the shed I'll be in to brief you on our exit strategy. LET'S MOVE IT OUT!
[Kevin calls Andre Drazen who is standing outside next to his limo]
KEVIN CAROL: Mr. Drazen.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Yes.
KEVIN CAROL: We just got to the transfer point.
ANDRE DRAZEN: What about Gaines?
KEVIN CAROL: He's dead.
ANDRE DRAZEN: I see.
KEVIN CAROL: Listen ah Mr. Drazen. When Gaines hired me for this I told him there was a couple of defects in his plan that could be exploited not to say I told you so but I'm not surprised that any of this happened the way it did.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Is there a point to any of this?
KEVIN CAROL: Yes. I can fix it for you.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Interesting and how can you do that?
KEVIN CAROL: I've done this before. I know people. When I was working for the DEA in Florida I was able to get to a witness that no one could find. 12 hours later he was dead. Problem solved if you get what I'm saying.
ANDRE DRAZEN: I appreciate the offer Kevin but as you Americans so often say. Plan B is already in effect.
[Andre hangs up]
KEVIN CAROL: What does that mean? DRAZEN!!!
[Kevin spots the man that was hiding as he walks over to him, The man presses a button as the shed explodes and Kevin falls to the ground badly hurt. The man walks over to Kevin.]
KEVIN CAROL: Get......[COUGHS] Get away ....from me.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Is there anything left in truck?
KEVIN CAROL: Go to hell.
[ALEXIS DRAZEN TAKES OUT HIS GUN AND FIRES A SINGLE BULLET INTO KEVINS CHEST KILLING HIM RIGHT AWAY. ALEXIS WALKS AWAY.]

ALBERTA GREEN: Are we saying that Senator Palmer should stay in for the duration?
TONY ALMEIDA: No. He's got to get out of California now. The backup shooters are in L.A. and they're gonna come after him.
ALBERTA GREEN: All right leave that with me. Let me look it over one more time before I do anything.
[Tony starts to walk out of the office]
ALBERTA GREEN: Tony?
TONY ALMEIDA: Yeah?
ALBERTA GREEN: Are you satisfied with your position here?
TONY ALMEIDA: Sure.
ALBERTA GREEN: Because I always thought you had too much talent to be a number three at CTU.
TONY ALMEIDA: What would you want me to do Alberta?
ALBERTA GREEN: See that's what I like about you Tony. You get right to the point. Before Chappelle makes his final evaluation on Jack he's gonna want to talk to you.
TONY ALMEIDA: Why me?
ALBERTA GREEN: Because you called in the lockdown. And let's face it, Nina is hardly impartial when it comes to Jack and Chappelle knows that.
TONY ALMEIDA: And you want me to tell him what?
ALBERTA GREEN: The truth. That even though Jack's family was in danger he could of dealt with it.

ALBERTA GREEN: Jack?
JACK BAUER: Alberta.
ALBERTA GREEN: Chappelle asked me to debrief you personally.
JACK BAUER: Fine.
ALBERTA GREEN: I have to tell you Jack This is your turf. I feel uncomfortable debriefing you.
JACK BAUER: No that's quite all right.
ALBERTA GREEN: Well it's pointless for me to ask you questions. Why don't you just tell me what you think I need to know? Save us some time.
JACK BAUER: Well I went through the timeline events with Chappelle. You need the threads and ID'S to proceed tactically over the next few hours.
ALBERTA GREEN: Do you mind?
JACK BAUER: No but before we get started I need something.
ALBERTA GREEN: What's that?
JACK BAUER: I want to be able to phone my family. They don't know what's going with me I want to ease their minds.
ALBERTA GREEN: Sorry Jack can't do it.
JACK BAUER: So why don't we dispense with the "Are you all right Jack" "I feel uncomfortable crap. Okay? You want to talk straight? Fine don't handle me.
[Alberta presses the record button]
ALBERTA GREEN: Tell me what you know?
JACK BAUER: First thing you need to do is get a hold of Langley. Have them open up their Balkan terrorist database.
ALBERTA GREEN: why the Balkans?
JACK BAUER: The people behind the hit on Palmer are being financed by a man named Ted Cofell. He's an investment banker with family connections in Europe.
ALBERTA GREEN: Was?
JACK BAUER: He died three hours ago.
ALBERTA GREEN: Keep talking.
JACK BAUER: The money that was traced came back to Ted Cofell industries, which is based out here in LA.

INT. MEDICAL CLINIC
[Nina calls Tony]
TONY ALMEIDA: C.T.U. Almeida.
NINA MYERS: Tony I have a problem. Twenty minuets ago a man introduced himself to me as F.B.I. but I know he's lying.
TONY ALMEIDA: How do you know?
NINA MYERS: Because I meet the only F.B.I. agents assigned here and they knew nothing about him. Can you send someone over? I need to pull prints off a phone.
TONY ALMEIDA: Sure anything else?
NINA MYERS: No that's it just hurry.

INT. PALMER HOTEL
SENATOR PALMER: Have Patty pack up your things. We have to leave the state today.
SHERRY PALMER: Why?
SENATOR PALMER: They've done a threat assessment. They claim it's too dangerous to stay here.
SHERRY PALMER: Well where are we going?
SENATOR PALMER: Nellis air force base in Nevada.
SHERRY PALMER: Have you discussed this with Mike?
SENATOR PALMER: Of course.
SHERRY PALMER: I thought you said the man from the breakfast ah Jack ah Bauer was all ready in custody.
SENATOR PALMER: He is but he may have not been working alone. There are others that are after me. Let's get our things together.

[Tony goes to the conference room where Chappelle waits]
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Hey Tony.
TONY ALMEIDA: Sir.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Have a seat. As you know we have a pretty important decision to make soon about Jack Bauer.
TONY ALMEIDA: I understand.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: I'm not going to lie to you. This may boil down to your testimony as seem to be the direct observer of last night's events.
TONY ALMEIDA: Let me save you some time Mr. Chappelle. I'm not the biggest fan of Jack Bauer. I don't agree with the way he delegates authority and I don't like the way he runs operations..........But since midnight last night you won't get me to disapprove of a single action he's taken.
RYAN CHAPPLLE: Fair enough.
***FADE OUT***
INT. SENATOR PALMER'S LIMO
SENATOR PALMER: Have you talked to Nicole?
SHERRY PALMER: Yeah there going to meet us at the airport.
[Mike hangs up his phone]
MIKE NOVIC: That was the Pentagon. Remember after the incident at the breakfast you asked me to check out the name Jack Bauer?
SENATOR PALMER: Who is he?
MIKE NOVIC: He used to be in special forces. Led a six-man team into Kosovo a couple of years ago.
SENATOR PALMER: That's what it was. The Drazen mission.
MIKE NOVIC: Yeah. He handpicked his men in training. Only Bauer survived.
SENATOR PALMER: He blames me for the loss of his team. That's what this is about.
***FADE OUT***
INT. PALMER HOTEL
[Elizabeth Nash packs up her things]
ELIZABETH NASH: Patty. Can you give this to Mrs. Palmer I didn't have time to pack it before she left.
PATTY BROOKS: Aren't you coming with us?
ELIZABETH NASH: No. I'm taking a later flight. I have a aunt in town I promised my Mom I'd visit. She's in a nursing home.
PATTY BROOKS: Sure.
[ELIZABETH MAKES HER WAY TO ROOM #1243 AND KNOCKS ON THE DOOR]
[ALEXIS DRAZEN ANSWERS IT]
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Elizabeth?
ELIZABETH NASH: I can't stay long.
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Then we shouldn't waste any time.
[Elizabeth takes off her jacket as Alexis grabs her and they start making out as Alexis takes off her shirt and go to the bed.]

INT. MEDICAL CLINIC ROOM #3
NINA MYERS: Anything?
EXPERT: Nothing.
NINA MYERS: That can't be I'm sure I saw him holding the phone.
EXPERT: Those prints have been wiped off. There is not a single print on that phone. This was done by a professional.
***FADE OUT***
INT. C.T.U. HOLDING CELL
JACK BAUER: Yes the grade of weapons there would be consistent with that scenario.
[Phone rings]
ALBERTA GREEN: Green.
NINA MYERS: Alberta it's Nina. I'd like permission to move Teri and Kim to the safe house now.
ALBERTA GREEN: Fine do it.
NINA MYERS: Thank you.
***FADE OUT***
INT. MEDICAL CLINIC
DR. KENT: Now the ultrasound showed the remnants of a small follicular cyst.
TERI BAUER: Cyst?
DR, KENT: It must have burst. That's what caused the pain.
TERI BAUER: Why did it burst?
DR. KENT: Could have been the assault.
[NINA MYERS ENTERS]
NINA MYERS: Teri Kim we need to go. Get your things.
DR. KENT: Sorry we are not finished here.
NINA MYERS: Plans have changed we must move them now. We want to get you and Kim to the safe house now.
[Dr. Kent hands Teri a pregnancy test in a bag]
[Are mystery man watches Kim and Teri and Nina all leave as he calls Andre Drazen]
MAN: They’re leaving now.

[SENATOR PALMER ARRIVES AS TONY ALMEIDA WALKS UP TO HIM]
TONY ALMEIDA: Senator Palmer Can I help you sir?
SENATOR PALMER: I'm here to see Jack Bauer.

JACK BAUER: [Voice over] The following takes place between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the day of the California Presidential primary.
EXT. IRA GAINES COMPOUND
[The red van is on fire as Kevin Carol and Ira Gaines stand up. Gaines picks up his sniper rifle.]
****FADE OUT****
CUT TO
EXT. IRA GAINES COMPOUND. SOUTH SECTION
[Jack Bauer and Rick are making a run for it.]
CUT BACK TO****
EXT. IRA GAINES COMPOUND BY THE VAN
IRA GAINES: Neil., you two take the jeep. Cut them off at the service road. The rest of you go behind him.
[IRA SLAMS HIS RIFLE INTO KEVINS STOMACH. KEVIN FALLS]
IRA GAINES: How could you let this happen? [On radio] We'll cut him off at the service road. Bauer, his wife and Rick. Make sure they don't double back.
KEVIN CAROL: I thought I could handle them.
IRA GAINES: Stop thinking.
[Ira and Kevin make a run for it to the service road]

[From a distance Teri and Kim Bauer can see the van going up in smoke.]
TERI BAUER: Okay we have to keep moving.
KIM BAUER: What if dad is...
TERI BAUER: Your dad's okay. Come on. He told us to meet him at the water tower that's what we're going to do.
CUT TO****
[Jack and Rick]
[Rick is wounded and he lays against a tree.]
RICK: I can't.
JACK BAUER: Shut up.....You can and you will. [He reloads his weapons.]
RICK: I'm slowing you down.
JACK BAUER: Yes you are so you better start speeding up.
[Jack points his gun aiming at one of Gaines' men as the man walks away]
JACK BAUER: We can move come on.
BACK TO TERI AND KIM
TERI BAUER: Wait, get down.
[More of Gaines' men get out of a van and start looking for them.]
KIM BAUER: What are we going to do mom?
TERI BAUER: [Pulls out the PDA] We can't go back, we can't go forward. They're everywhere. We can catch the road further up where it cuts into the woods.
KIM BAUER: Dad told up to follow the creek bed.
TERI BAUER: We don't have a choice do we Kimberly?
[They start to climb up a hill and head for the woods]
****FADE OUT****
INT. C.T.U. MAIN FLOOR
[Nina Myers is trying to call Jack but no luck]
TONY ALMEIDA: Hey Nina. The property where they are holding Jack's family was leased six months ago by a company that doesn't exist. I have to go over the tax records..........You all right?
NINA MYERS: Jack's still not answering his phone.
TONY ALMEIDA: He could have shut it off, keep it from ringing.
NINA MYERS: Or maybe something has happened to him.
TONY ALMEIDA: Look, if anybody knows how to take care of himself it's Jack. Plus our tactical team should be there in a couple of minutes. Buddy is heading up the operation, he's good.
NINA MYERS: Maybe you're right. I should have brought Green in sooner.
TONY ALMEIDA: You let Jack make the call because it was his family on the line. What could you do?
NINA MYERS: Yeah.............Look I'm sorry. Since this whole thing got started I guess I've been a little harsh.
TONY ALMEIDA: A little?
NINA MYERS: All right a lot harsh. I've been afraid.
TONY ALMEIDA: You don't have to explain. You want to talk about us, we'll talk later. Okay?
NINA MYERS: I just want you to know that.......
[ALBERTA GREEN INTERUPTS]
ALBERTA GREEN: I understand your bringing in Jamey Farrell's mother?
NINA MYERS: Yes to pick up Kyle. Her son.
ALBERTA GREEN: Before she sees him I want the two of you to question her. If she has information that can help us protect Palmer I need to know.
NINA MYERS: What makes you think she has any information?
ALBERTA GREEN: $300,000 dollars was deposited into her bank account over the last four months.
****FADE OUT****
INT. SECRET SERVICE S.U.V.
SENATOR PALMER: They killed George Faragamo. That fire was no accident. I want to talk to Maureen Kingsley then go straight to the DA.
MIKE NOVIC: Wait until you have all the facts before you go off David.
SENATOR PALMER: The facts? He was killed so I'd get elected.
MIKE NOVIC: You don't know that.
SENATOR PALMER: Then what do you think happened?
MIKE NOVIC: I'm saying lets take a beat to see how we should play this before we do anything.
SENATOR PALMER: There's only one way to play this Mike. Maureen Kingsley is going to get the story of her career after all.
MIKE NOVIC: David.
SENATOR PALMER: After I talk to her I'll see the DA.
MIKE NOVIC: Shouldn't you run this by Sherry?
SENATOR PALMER: Why? So she can talk me out of it?
MIKE NOVIC: She's your wife David. She deserves to know.
****FADE OUT****
EXT. IRA GAINES COMPOUND
[Ira is on his cell phone with Andre Drazen. Kevin is standing behind Ira]
ANDRE DRAZEN: Has the compound been cleared?
IRA GAINES: Yes. There's been a change of plans.
[Andre Drazen is in the back of his limo]
ANDRE DRAZEN: Meaning?
IRA GAINES: Meaning Bauer showed up here just like I said he would.
ANDRE DRAZEN: You have him?
IRA GAINES: Not yet but I will.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Congratulations Ira. You may have bought yourself a second chance.
IRA GAINES: My contract included killing Palmer as well. I want to make good on it. The way you were talking it sounded like you handed it off to someone else.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Bring me Bauer's body. Then we'll talk about the Senator.
IRA GAINES: You'll hear from me soon.
[HANGS UP]
KEVIN CAROL: Drazen?
IRA GAINES: Yeah. Either we eliminate Bauer or Drazen eliminates us.
KEVIN CAROL: And that's the only option here.
IRA GAINES: Basically.
KEVIN CAROL: Getting Bauer is not as easy as it sounds. I heard them phoning in some GPS coordinates to somebody. Whoever that somebody is they will be sending in the cavalry soon, I say we cut our losses and get the hell out of here.
IRA GAINES: You don't just get the hell out of here with these people. They come after you and keep coming until they find you, no matter where you are. When they do, believe me, killing Bauer is our only chance of staying alive.
CUT TO::::
[Jack and Rick]
12:10:03, 12:10:04, 12:10:05
[Jack and Rick enter the water tower but Teri and Kim are not there]
JACK BAUER: They should have been here by now. .....Come here. Let me take a look at that. [Checks out Rick's gun wound] You're not mortally wounded. The bullet passed straight through. Didn't hit any bone. You got any loose clothing?
RICK: My back pocket.
JACK BAUER: I got it. [Wraps cloth around the wound.]
CUT TO::: TERI AND KIM
TERI BAUER: Wait. Hold up Honey.
KIM BAUER: Are you okay?
TERI BAUER: Yeah, I just need to find out where we are. We may have veered a little south. We should have been at the road by now.
KIM BAUER: You don't know where we are do you?...........Mom. Where lost aren't we?

INT. PALMER SUITE
[Senator Palmer and wife Sherry are talking]
SHERRY PALMER: Mike's your advisor, what does he think?.............He agrees with me. He thinks your making a mistake by taking them on.
SENATOR PALMER: They have all ready covered up one death.
SHERRY PALMER: You don't know what happened to Faragamo, but even if you're right will turning this into a media circus bring him back to life?
SENATOR PALMER: [Sighs] That's not the point.
SHERRY PALMER: Your career and your family, you're throwing everything you've built without any hard evidence of what really happened.
SENATOR PALMER: Police will find the evidence.
SHERRY PALMER: No they won't because Carl and the people he works for, they will twist the system to get the results that they want. That's what they do David. You'll be left with nothing.................Sweetheart, to fight these people you need power. The kind of power you will have once you become president..................We knew from the start that this would be an uphill race, but we're almost there........Look at the polls.
SENATOR PALMER: Sherry I don't know.
SHERRY PALMER: No, think David.
SENATOR PALMER: How can I do the job, when my own house isn't in order?
****FADE OUT****
EXT. IRA GAINES TERRORIST COMPOUND WATER TOWER
JACK BAUER: I told them to wait at the water tower. You heard me say that right?
RICK: Yeah. What are you going to do?
JACK BAUER: I got to go back and find them. [Jack calls Alberta Green]
ALBERTA GREEN: Green.
JACK BAUER: Alberta it's Jack. There's been a complication.
ALBERTA GREEN: I'm listening.
JACK BAUER: Teri and Kim are not where they were supposed to be. I got to go back and find them.
ALBERTA GREEN: I need to tell the incoming team where to pick you up.
JACK BAUER: Fine, tell them at an abandoned water tower, north area of the compound. Check your satellite photos. Alberta. If I'm not back when the team arrives they'll find a kid in here. His name is Rick, he's wounded.
ALBERTA GREEN: Who is he?
JACK BAUER: He's someone who helped us get out of there.
ALBERTA GREEN: Three tactical units are on their way.
JACK BAUER: How much longer?
ALBERTA GREEN: Ten minutes.
JACK BAUER: Okay I copy. Out. [HANGS UP]
RICK: Jack.
JACK BAUER: What?
RICK: Thanks.
JACK BAUER: Don't thank me, thank my daughter.
RICK: This whole thing, believe me, I had no idea what was going on. Dan said we were just trying to scare a couple of guys who were backing put of a deal.
JACK BAUER: When you started to see what was happening you should have done something.
RICK: He was my friend.
JACK BAUER: Hey, you kidnapped my daughter, you're going to have to live with that. Son, part of getting a second chance is taking responsibility for the mess you made in the first place you understand me?
RICK: Yes.
JACK BAUER: Good. I'll be back in a few minutes.

[Jack Bauer starts his search in the compound for Teri and Kim. They are hiding in an old rundown shack. Gaines' men are all over the place.]
[One of Gaines' men, Jenson, walks towards the shack. Inside Teri and Kim hide behind a wall. Teri lifts her gun and waits for Jenson to enter.] Jenson enters and starts walking towards Teri and Kim. He gets close as Ira Gaines' radios everyone.]
IRA GAINES: It's Gaines. Everyone circle back to section five.
[Jenson exits the shack]
TERI BAUER: Okay. When he gets to the back of the shed we'll move.
KIM BAUER: What if he sees us?
TERI BAUER: We'll be all right. [Teri's stomach is hurting]
KIM BAUER: You okay?
TERI BAUER: It's nothing.
[JENSON SURPRISES TERI AND KIM AND GETS READY TO FIRE AT THEM BUT JACK APPEARS]
JACK BAUER: [Shouting] TERI STAY DOWN.
[JACK FIRES SEVERAL BULLETS INTO JENSON AND HE DIES. JACK GRABS TERI AND KIM. IRA GAINES HEARD THE SHOTS. JACK GRABS JENSONS RADIO]
IRA GAINES: [On radio] This is Gaines who's shooting? Whoever's shooting call in your position now.
JACK BAUER: Damit. They're going to be all over this place. We have to move now.
[Jack checks the area]
JACK BAUER: Clear. Come on we have to get out of hear now.

IRA GAINES: [On radio] Maxton and Neil you're the only two who haven't checked in yet.
MAXTON: This is Maxton.
IRA GAINES: Where the hell are you? Why haven't you checked in yet?
MAXTON: We're crossing the creek to meet up with Peterson's group. Trying to cut off Bauer from the service road.
KEVIN CAROL: What about Neil?
IRA GAINES: Maxton where's Neil?
MAXTON: He split off on his own. Northeast side of the creek.
****FADE OUT****
JACK BAUER: Okay. [Looks at palm pilot] They’re coming from over there. We can hit the road down a little farther. Come on.
****CUT TO JENSON'S DEAD BODY ****
[Gaines and Kevin are there]
KEVIN CAROL: There's no radio.
IRA GAINES: Bauer's been listening........TO EVERY DAMN WORD.

[At C.T.U. Nina and Tony think that there might be a connection between the hit on Palmer and the country in Belgrade]
[Jack, Teri, and Kim are waiting by the lake for the C.T.U. chopper to land]
JACK BAUER: The chopper should have been hear by now.
KIM BAUER: What about Rick? I thought he was supposed to meet us here?
JACK BAUER: He's waiting for us in the water tower. When the chopper arrives he'll come out.
KIM BAUER: I'm getting him, there's no one around.
[A SHOT ALMOST HITS KIM]
JACK BAUER: KIM GET BACK.
[From atop a hill Gaines almost takes Kim out.]
JACK BAUER: Sniper rifle.
TERI BAUER: What do we do?
JACK BAUER: Stay here. Don't move for anything but the chopper.
TERI BAUER: Where are you going?
JACK BAUER: He wants me.

[Jack comes within distance of Gaines' rifle. Ira fires but Jack takes cover and hides behind a tree.]
IRA GAINES: He's trying to draw us away from the women.
KEVIN CAROL: That's fine by me. Once he's dead they will be easy.
IRA GAINES: I'll keep him pinned down. Circle around until you get a clear shot.
[IRA GAINES fires again and misses]
[Jack sees something shining on the ground and tries to grab it. He gets it as Gaines fires and almost hits him]
JACK BAUER: AHHH, Damit.
IRA GAINES: [On radio to Jack] That's right Jack, you don't have a shot from that distance. How much longer do we have?
JACK BAUER: Until what?
IRA GAINES: Until your people get here?
JACK BAUER: I wouldn't wait around to find out if I were you.
IRA GAINES: I don't have a choice. The people I work for made that very clear.
[Jack fires at Gaines as he repositions........We hear the C.T.U. chopper in the sky]
[Jack grabs the shiny object he found and uses it to blind Gaines for a second. Gaines reacts to the blindness and he gets up to move. Jack fires and hits Gaines in the arm.]
IRA GAINES: AHHHH. [Ira starts to leave a trail of blood and Jack follows it.]
****FADE OUT****
INT. PALMER HOTEL DOWN THE HALL
[Palmer is about to speak to the DA about the Faragamo accident.]
MIKE NOVIC: The DA's inside, you want me to sit in?
[Palmer sees Carl sitting down in the other room]
SENATOR PALMER: Give me a minute.
SENATOR PALMER: The DA's down the hall Carl. Waiting for me to tell a story........It's over.
CARL: See and I think it's just getting started. I like you David. I do and I think you would make one hell of a commander in chief.
SENATOR PALMER: I know what you did to Faragamo.
CARL: Every engine produces waste. It's the physics of the situation.
SENATOR PALMER: Listen to yourself.
CARL: Consider the alternatives. A year from now you will be either promoting your agenda for the nation or visiting your son in prison.
SENATOR PALMER: A jury will believe that it was an accident.
CARL: I'm not talking about the rape David. I'm talking about Faragamo.
SENATOR PALMER: Keith had nothing to do with that.
CARL: Of course he didn't, but if somebody were to mention the word arson.
SENATOR PALMER: Son of a bitch. [Grabs Carl] You planted something?
[Palmer lets go and Carl leaves]
MIKE NOVIC: What was that all about?........The DA is waiting in there. What do you want me to say?
SENATOR PALMER: Tell him I'm sorry, I have nothing to say. I made a mistake.
MIKE NOVIC: I don't understand.
SENATOR PALMER: I'm running for president Mike. I'm going to win.

[The chopper lands. Teri and Kim run out. Seven or eight federal tactical agents jump out of the chopper and run over to Teri and Kim]
AGENT: Mrs. Bauer are you okay?
TERI BAUER: Yes.
AGENT: Do either of you need medical attention?
TERI BAUER: No we're okay but Jack....
AGENT: Where is he?
TERI BAUER: Up there somewhere.
[Kim runs to the water tower and does not find Rick inside] [Rick has escaped to the street and gets on a bus.]
JACK BAUER: You're losing blood.
IRA GAINES: Not enough to stop me from killing you.
JACK BAUER: Maybe neither of us have to die.
IRA GAINES: Like I said Jack I don't have a choice.
JACK BAUER: Maybe at least you could tell me what's going on. Cofell, he mentioned something about Belgrade. That was a military operation, how is Palmer connected to that?
IRA GAINES: You were there Jack, you should know.
JACK BAUER: Let's say I don't.
IRA GAINES: Neither do I. The less I know the better I can work. That's just the nature of our business.
[Jack continues to follow Gaines' blood trail]
JACK BAUER: Then why did you bring my family into this?
IRA GAINES: That may have been a mistake. They wanted to make it personal.
[Jack comes out of the blue behind Gaines pointing a gun at his face.]
JACK BAUER: Who's They?
[Gaines is stunned]
JACK BAUER: Put down the weapon Mr. Gaines. We can protect you.
IRA GAINES: No you can't.
JACK BAUER: PUT DOWN THE WEAPON.
[Gaines stands up]
IRA GAINES: Good luck.
[IRA TURNS AROUND TO SHOOT JACK. JACK DODGES THE BULLET AND FIRES A SHOT INTO GAINES'S CHEST KILLING HIM RIGHT AWAY.]
[Seconds later the C.T.U. agents grab Jack]
AGENT: Federal agent, drop your weapon. Interlace your fingers behind your head.
[Jack falls down and puts his hands on his head.]
AGENT: [On radio] We have Bauer in custody.
JACK BAUER: Sweetheart?
TERI BAUER: Jack! Thank God you're okay.
[All three of them hug]
TERI BAUER: It's over right?
JACK BAUER: Yes I promise.
AGENT: Agent Bauer lets move.
JACK BAUER: My family's been through hell, I'd like them to ride back with me.
AGENT: That will be fine sir.
[They all board the chopper as the chopper lifts off from the compound and starts to fly back to C.T.U.]
INT. C.T.U.
ALBERTA GREEN: Jack and his family were rescued. They will be back in ten minutes.
NINA MYERS: That's good news. We need to move fast on something else. We found out where the money came from. An off-shore bank account in Belgrade.
ALBERTA GREEN: Wait a minute, Belgrade?
NINA MYERS: Before I lay it out you need to upgrade the threat assessment on Palmer.
ALBERTA GREEN: Nina you need to give me more than that.
NINA MYERS: The same account shows a transfer of funds to an assassin in Belgrade.
ALBERTA GREEN: That's old news. The photographer from the breakfast this morning.
NINA MYERS: No. Our contact over there says this assassin left Yugoslavia this morning which means he's probably all ready here.
ALBERTA GREEN: A second hitter.
[WE SEE ONLY A PERSON'S LEGS GETTING INTO A CAR. THIS PERSON PRESSES A BUTTON AND A GARAGE DOOR OPENS. WE THEN SEE HIS FACE AS HE PUTS ON HIS SUNGLASSES AND DRIVES OUT OF THE GARAGE AND INTO THE STREETS OF LOS ANGELES.]

EXT. HIGHWAY
INT. LIMO
[Jack Bauer continues to drive Kevin to Jack's family]
KEVIN CAROL: Take the next exit.
JACK BAUER: Placerita Canyon road?
KEVIN CAROL: Yeah.
JACK BAUER: How much further is this place?
KEVIN CAROL: I told you I'd take you to your family, and I will. That was the deal.
JACK BAUER: The deal is you better hope my family is still alive.
****FADE OUT****
INT. C.T.U. MAIN FLOOR
ALBERTA GREEN: I'm sure my being here has been a big adjustment. I appreciate the hard work and long hours you're all putting in. It's likely that Senator Palmer is still in danger but we are making progress on several fronts.
[The camera shows Senator Palmer getting into his limo and the motorcade taking off]
INT. BACK TO GREEN
ALBERTA GREEN: Our most promising lead continues to be Jack Bauer. Local and federal law enforcements have made finding Bauer a priority. We're also trying to locate the man who impersonated a photographer at the Senator's appearance this morning. This man may have been involved with Bauer. I've told the agencies we're working with to expect full cooperation from all of us.........Hopefully we can repair some of the damage caused by Bauer's recent actions. Thank you, that's all.
[Nina walks away and calls Jack]
JACK BAUER: Bauer.
NINA MYERS: Jack!
JACK BAUER: You were right. Kevin Carol showed up. He gave us the information we need. I'm on my way to where Teri and Kim are being held now.
NINA MYERS: Where?
JACK BAUER: Somewhere in the North Valley. East of the 5 between Tampa and Reseda. I'm coming up on some orange groves. Look I want you to activate the GPS function on the palm pilot that you sent me, I need satellite photos so that I can see what I'm going into.....Make sure they're hi res, I need to be able to identify structures and personnel.
NINA MYERS: Okay. I'm going to need a little time to download off the satellite. It won't be a fresh image.
JACK BAUER: Give me what you can, I'll wait.
NINA MYERS: Jack…
JACK BAUER: What?
NINA MYERS: Green. She's still pushing everyone here to bring you in.
JACK BAUER: I will turn myself in as soon as I know my family is safe.
NINA MYERS: She thinks I've been in contact with you.
JACK BAUER: Deny it. I'll back you up as soon as I can. Nina look I know you put yourself on the line here…
NINA MYERS: No one's twisting my arm, I’ve got to go.
[HANGS UP]
TONY ALMEIDA: Was that Jack?
NINA MYERS: Yeah.
TONY ALMEIDA: Where is he?
NINA MYERS: The North Valley. He's closing in on Teri and Kim.
TONY ALMEIDA: You telling Green about this?
NINA MYERS: Not until he gets them out.
TONY ALMEIDA: What if he can't?
NINA MYERS: I'm gonna have to live with my mistake.....Tony I appreciate your looking the other way on this but you don't have to help me cover for Jack anymore.
TONY ALMEIDA: I'm not doing this for Jack.
[Alberta Green watches Nina from Jack's office]

INT. GAINES COMPOUND HOLDING CELL
[Teri and Kim Bauer both hide Eli's body ]
TERI BAUER: Kimberly I had no choice, he was going to kill us. Taking a person's life… believe me I feel sick.
KIM BAUER: That's just it mom, I don't feel bad at all. I don't feel anything except happy he's dead.
[Eli's pager goes off]
KIM BAUER: They're looking for him.
[Teri grabs the pager]
TERI BAUER: We have to get out of here before they find him. Cover up the blood.....There's two of them, when they're gone we'll move.
****FADE OUT****
INT. GAINES COMPOUND SERVICE ROAD LEADING TO FRONT GATE'S
[The limo pulls over on the side of the road just before the gates. Jack gets out]
[Phone rings]
JACK BAUER: Nina!
NINA MYERS: I got the photos but they're a few hours old.
JACK BAUER: Hold on. [Jack walks to the fence and gets out his palm pilot] Okay, I'm ready to receive.
NINA MYERS: Are you in yet?
JACK BAUER: I'm just outside the perimeter.
NINA MYERS: I see a dozen or so people on the ground. Some look like they're packing guns.
JACK BAUER: That looks right from here.
NINA MYERS: There could be more people inside the buildings......Jack I think you should bring Green into this. Come clean then she can send backup.
JACK BAUER: I DON'T WANT BACKUP! Not until I know my family is safe.
NINA MYERS: You cannot go into an armed camp by yourself.
JACK BAUER: Nina, my family is being held because of me. If you bring C.T.U. into this, they could make this another Waco. Send me the photos now.
NINA MYERS: I'm sending.
JACK BAUER: Thank you. I'll get back to you.
{HANGS UP}
JACK BAUER: Get out of the car.
KEVIN CAROL: What are you doing Jack?
[Jack spits in Kevin's face to clean off blood]
KEVIN CAROL: Damnit Jack will you pull yourself together. Don't be stupid. Even if you get in there, you'll never find them without me.
JACK BAUER: You drive.
KEVIN CAROL: Jack! If Gaines thinks for a moment that I brought you here, he'll have no problem killing us both.
JACK BAUER: Then we should avoid Gaines. Get in the car.
[They drive towards the compound's main gate.]

INT. PALMER'S LIMO
MIKE NOVIC: Believe it or not, the threat on your life will give us a bounce in the polls..........What's wrong David?
SENATOR PALMER: I'm tired.
MIKE NOVIC: It's something else. You've been off your game since you spoke to Carl.
SENATOR PALMER: Carl's gonna stop the Kingsley story from coming out by cutting off her source.
MIKE NOVIC: Did Carl say how he planned to do this?
SENATOR PALMER: No, he just said I'd better stay out of it.
MIKE NOVIC: Maybe that's good advice. You don't think Carl would do something to hurt Faragamo?
SENATOR PALMER: You know Carl better than I do, you tell me.
MIKE NOVIC: I think your being paranoid, but if you're really concerned I'll call this therapist and tell him to be careful.
SENATOR PALMER: I already tried, got his voice mail both times.
MIKE NOVIC: You called him? Exposing yourself like that? For God sake David you're running for president. What were you thinking?

EXT. GAINES COMPOUND MAIN GATES
[Jack is in the back with a blanket covering him]
JACK BAUER: Anything goes wrong everyone around the car dies starting with you.
[They pull up]
JENSON: Gaines' been waiting for you.
KEVIN CAROL: I know.
JENSON: What happened to you?
KEVIN CAROL: I got in a fight with your wife, now you gonna open the gate?
[Jenson laughs as they open the gate]
JACK BAUER: Roll up the window and go.

[The limo stops]
JACK BAUER: How many men on site?
KEVIN CAROL: 15, 20.
JACK BAUER: Which is it 15 or 20?
KEVIN CAROL: I didn't do the hiring.
JACK BAUER: My wife and daughter are in one of these buildings, which one?
KEVIN CAROL: I don't know.
JACK BAUER: TAKE A GUESS!
KEVIN CAROL: This whole rescue act Jack, you really think it's gonna make up for how you screwed up your marriage? Teri's told me everything, how you were never around, the separation.
JACK BAUER: You're wasting your time.
KEVIN CAROL: Teri's been very lonely.
[JACK SMACKS KEVIN WITH THE BACK OF HIS GUN IN THE HEAD]
JACK BAUER: For the last time, which building are they in?
KEVIN CAROL: This one. It's used for cold storage.
[KEVIN SURPRISES JACK WITH A NECK JAB BUT JACK BLOCKS IT, KNOCKS KEVIN OUT COLD AND TIES HIM UP WITH THE SEAT BELT]
[Jack gets out of the car]
INT. GAINES COMPOUND. GAINES OFFICE
[Ira is on the phone with Andre Drazen]
ANDRE DRAZEN: You understand my concern?
IRA GAINES: Yes.
ANDRE DRAZEN: You do realize what is at stake here don't you?
IRA GAINES: Yeah.
ANDRE DRAZEN: I assume you know were working against the clock.
IRA GAINES: Don't worry Mr. Drazen, we'll be out of here within the hour. If there's a problem you'll be the first to know.
ANDRE DRAZEN: I want an update soon.
IRA GAINES: Yes sir.
[HANGS UP]
IRA GAINES: Hey Rick, where's Eli?
RICK: I haven't seen him.
IRA GAINES: I sent him to take care of the women. Find out what's taking him so long.
RICK: You want me to load this up first?
IRA GAINES: Yeah.
[BAUER IS IN THE COMPOUND TAKING COVER BEHIND A TREE. HE SEE'S THE BUILDING AND LOOKS IN BUT NO TERI AND KIM.]
JACK BAUER: Damit.

INT. PALMER'S LIMO
[Palmer's cell rings]
SENATOR PALMER: Hello?
GEORGE FARAGAMO: This is Dr. Faragamo.
SENATOR PALMER: Thank you for returning my call.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: Your message said it was urgent.
SENATOR PALMER: I wanted to talk to you about my son.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: You know I can't do that, doctor patient privilege.
SENATOR PALMER: That didn't stop you from talking to the press.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: If you're calling to threaten me, Senator…
SENATOR PALMER: I'm not the one who is threatening you.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: Really?
SENATOR PALMER: Whatever you leaked to Kingsley there are certain people who want to stop you from confirming it.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: By certain people I assume your referring to yourself.
SENATOR PALMER: No, I'm trying to protect you.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: You've already covered up one murder and now you're threatening me if I don't keep quiet.
SENATOR PALMER: You're twisting my words.
GEORGE FARAGAMO: I think I'm hearing you clearly. [HANGS UP]
SENATOR PALMER: Dr. Faragamo.....Damit.
MIKE NOVIC: Doesn't sound like it went very well.
SENATOR PALMER: I need to see him Mike. Face to face.
MIKE NOVIC: Later.
SENATOR PALMER: Now.
MIKE NOVIC: David, you're supposed to be delivering your policy statement on public health care in an hour.
SENATOR PALMER: I'll be late.
MIKE NOVIC: What are you going to do, pull up to his office in your motorcade?
SENATOR PALMER: I'll ride with secret service.
MIKE NOVIC: You're getting in way over your head David.
[David presses the button indicating the driver to pull over]
SENATOR PALMER: Pull over.
****FADE OUT****
INT. GAINES COMPOUND HOLDING CELL
TERI BAUER: They're gone, lets go.
[The door from the outside opens as Teri and Kim take cover. A man jumps to tackle Teri. It's Jack]
JACK BAUER: Teri....Teri it's me baby. It's me.....shhhh....It's Jack.
TERI BAUER: [Crying] Jack. [They hug as Kim joins them]
KIM BAUER: Daddy.
JACK BAUER: Sweetheart. It's gonna be okay.
KIM BAUER: I knew you'd come.
JACK BAUER: It's all right baby.
KIM BAUER: Can we leave now?
JACK BAUER: Yes.

ALBERTA GREEN: Making any progress?
NINA MYERS: I'm working on the projected threat assessment.
ALBERTA GREEN: I think you both know where Jack is, which means you're interfering with a criminal investigation, harboring a fugitive.
NINA MYERS: Jack is not a threat to Palmer.
ALBERTA GREEN: How do you know that, if you haven't talked to him? Why is he still missing?
NINA MYERS: Polygraph us if you think we're lying.
ALBERTA GREEN: So you can stall some more time? Save us some trouble and just tell me where he is.
[PAUSE]
ALBERTA GREEN: Tony go to holding cell 2, I'll be there in a few minutes. Nina go to 1.
TONY ALMEIDA: What are you doing Alberta?
ALBERTA GREEN: I'm suspending you both.
NINA MYERS: What?
ALBERTA GREEN: Until one of you tells me where to find Jack, you're both suspended.
NINA MYERS: You don't have the authority to do that.
ALBERTA GREEN: The first one to tell me will have a career and a future here. The other one will be prosecuted and discharged.
****FADE OUT****
EXT. GAINES COMPOUND
IRA GAINES: Rick........I thought I told you to go check on Eli.
RICK: Yes sir.

INT. HOLDING CELL
JACK BAUER: Who is he?
TERI BAUER: He was sent in to kill us.
JACK BAUER: When?
TERI BAUER: About a half hour ago.
JACK BAUER: That means someone is gonna come look for him.
[DOOR KNOCKS]
RICK: Kim, it's me
[JACK ANSWERS IT AND POINTS A GUN AT RICK'S FACE]
JACK BAUER: Why are you helping them?
RICK: Because I got Kim into this, I didn't know how heavy it was gonna get.
JACK BAUER: Get up........Is anyone else coming?
RICK: Not that I know of.
JACK BAUER: Good.
****FADE OUT****
INT. C.T.U. HOLDING CELL #2
ALBERTA GREEN: We both know why Nina's covering for Jack, I think the only reason your covering for Jack is to cover for Nina.
TONY ALMEIDA: You don't know what you're talking about.
ALBERTA GREEN: I'm just trying to help you Tony. See the situation clearly. Somehow Jack Bauer is connected to the threat on Palmer. By not telling me you're endangering the life of a U.S. senator who has a damn good chance of becoming our next president..........................What's Jack doing Tony?
TONY ALMEIDA: Look, if I knew where Jack was…
ALBERTA GREEN: You do know.
TONY ALMEIDA: You're wrong.
ALBERTA GREEN: No I'm not! Help me here Tony, or getting fired will be the least of your worries. I will make sure you're prosecuted, you will go to prison. I'll give you ten minutes to think it through. Take the time to decided if it's really worth ruining your life over this.
****FADE OUT****
INT. GAINES COMPOUND HOLDING CELL
RICK: I know a way out, a better way I think.
JACK BAUER: How?
RICK: Gaines still thinks I'm on his side, I can get one of the vans without them noticing. Even if they stop me your car will still be there.
TERI BAUER: He's right Jack.
[RICKS RADIO GO'S OFF]
IRA GAINES: Rick it's Gaines. What's going on down there?
RICK: Ah, Mr Gaines.
IRA GAINES: Where's Eli?
RICK: He's outside. he's digging a hole to bury the girls.
IRA GAINES: Get him damn it, I need him back here right now.
[CLICKS OFF]
RICK: When Eli doesn't come back Gaines is coming down here. Let me get the van.
JACK BAUER: You've got five minutes.
[Rick leaves and heads for the vans]

[Jenson is patrolling when he comes across Kevin passed out in the limo. Jenson breaks a window to untie him.]
[Rick walks up to a van, looks in it but there are no keys. He tries his best to avoid Gaines. Rick looks around and secretly grabs a gun and climbs into a van with keys in it when Gaines knocks on the driver side window.]
IRA GAINES: What are you doing?
RICK: Taking the van.
IRA GAINES: I can see that. Where ya taking the van too?
RICK: Help Eli get the bodies from the holding cell.
IRA GAINES: You two can't move a couple of women yourselves?
RICK: I don't know, He told me to get a van.
[Jenson radios]
JENSON: Gaines.
IRA GAINES: What?
JENSON: I was out on patrol and ah I found Kevin.
IRA GAINES: What? Is he alive?
JENSON: Yeah but he's out cold. Someone messed him up good.
IRA GAINES: Where are you?
JENSON: North Grove.
IRA GAINES: Be right there. [CLICKS OFF] You're driving, let's go.

INT. SECRET SERVICE SUV
SENATOR PALMER: Pull over here.
MIKE NOVIC: Here's the office..............Let me find out what happened.
[Police and ambulances and firefighters all over]
SENATOR PALMER: Faragamo isn't it?
MIKE NOVIC: There was a fire. They say it might have been a gas leak. He didn't get out in time.
SENATOR PALMER: Damit. They torched his office.
MIKE NOVIC: We don't know that yet. It could have been an accident.
SENATOR PALMER: It wasn't. It was murder.
****FADE OUT****
INT. C.T.U. HOLDING CELL #2
ALBERTA GREEN: Time's up Tony. Have you thought about what I've said?
TONY ALMEIDA: I have.
ALBERTA GREEN: And.
[Enter a CTU agent]
AGENT: Excuse me. You have a call.
ALBERTA GREEN: I said no interruptions.
AGENT: It's Bauer.
[Alberta grabs the phone]
ALBERTA GREEN: Where the hell are you Jack?
JACK BAUER: Alberta you may have my office but if you want to do my job listen up.
ALBERTA GREEN: I don't take orders from you.
JACK BAUER: I've located the people behind the Palmer hit.
ALBERTA GREEN: You're one of them unless you can prove otherwise.

IRA GAINES: BAUER'S ON SITE, WHOEVER'S NEAR THE HOLDING CELL, WERE GOING IN STRONG. SEAL THE GATE, MAKE SURE NO ONE GETS OUT.

[THE VAN TAKES OFF DOWN THE ROAD AS GAINES JEEP STOPS AT THE HOLDING CELL. THEY ENTER AS IRA FINDS ELI'S BODY.]
[GAINES HAS A "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING" LOOK ON HIS FACE]
[GAINES, KEVIN, AND JENSON CLIMB BACK INTO THE JEEP AS THEY DRIVE AWAY TOWARDS THE VAN]
[THE VAN IS CUT OFF BY GAINES AS HIS MEN START SHOOTING AT THEM]
JACK BAUER: GET DOWN.
[BULLETS POUR INTO THE VAN]
[GAINES STOPS AND FIRES SEVERAL BULLETS TAKING OUT TWO TIRES ON THE VAN AS THE VAN STOPS THEY ALL GET OUT AND HIDE BEHIND THE TIRES. GAINES MEN IS JUST BEYOND THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VAN SHOOTING AS JACK RETURNS FIRE]
IRA GAINES: GET UP TO THE VAN DAMIT.
JACK BAUER: Get to the back of the van. Use the wheels for cover.
IRA GAINES: Take cover.
[BULLETS CONTINUE TO RAIN]
KEVIN CAROL: COVER ME. I'M GOING ACROSS.
JACK BAUER: On the satellite photo you'll see a water tower down by the service road. FOLLOW THE CREEK DOWN THERE, RUN LIKE HELL. I'LL MAKE SURE C.T.U. FINDS YOU. [JACK FIRES BACK]
TERI BAUER: NO, I'M NOT LEAVING YOU.
KIM BAUER: THERE'S TOO MANY OF THEM.
RICK: Not if I help.
JACK BAUER: You know how to use that thing?
RICK: Yeah.
JACK BAUER: TERI STAY THERE............. You won't be leaving me, you'll be taking care of our daughter. Go now. GO......RUN!!!!!!
[TERI AND KIM TAKE OFF DOWN THE CREEK BED]
JACK BAUER: KEEP COVERING ME!!!!!!!!!!!
[RICK FIRES BACK TAKING OUT ONE OF GAINES MEN.]
[JACK POPS OPEN THE GAS CONTAINER OF THE VAN AS GAS TRICKELS OUT THEY BOTH RUN BACK. AS THEY RUN A BULLET HITS RICK IN THE LEG.]
RICK: AHHHHHH.
JACK BAUER: COME ON...WE GOT TO KEEP MOVING.
[GAINES AND HIS MEN GET CLOSER TO THE VAN AS JACK FIRES A BULLET INTO THE GAS AS THE VAN EXPLODES. GAINES AND KEVIN FALL BACK.]
JACK BAUER: I'll be able to stop the bleeding once we clear the trees. Come on, I'm not leaving you behind.
[JACK AND RICK RUN UP THE HILL AND TO THE WATER TOWER]
